Trapped in the lift

What you feel when you are trapped in elevator of a hospital with 17 people with you?

Someone will say suffocation, someone will say anxiety and some will say fear, excitement thriller etc. I saw all this on that day. There were 17 people of different age group from 20 something to may be 60 something. We all were trapped in an elevator. The lift man had tried his best to stop over loading but I guess a couple could not bear getting separated for few minutes also, husband pulled the wife in, that made the lift over loaded. The wife was a foreigner and due to the lack of space in the lift she could freely hold her Indian husband as if she was in some foreign country. She must be missing her country for this.

There were few people like my father who were calm and composed and confident that we will get out of it soon. There was a lady who was getting agitated. Probably she was the mother of ailing daughter who was in her 20s. The look on her face said that she despised the people who were the cause of this trouble, the couple and the lift man. “Didn’t he know how many people he was supposed to take in?”

A guy in his 30s, standing near the door was trying to solve the problem by like screaming through the door, calling someone, and finally he tried to chant the magical words “Khul ja simsim.” And with this he was actually trying to open the door. And that was the moment where other people like me started giggling. And the agitated women got annoyed.
“Some people think its kind of some joke!! There is nothing to laugh about here!!” She was not just thinking all this but speaking all this, while rest of the people were calm.

Almost 15 mins we were in that 7 by 5 ft. Before any body would have fainted we got help and were rescued. Ya, rescued, that lady must have felt this.
